MONTICELLO PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

2017-2020 Bond Program

The City of San Antonio's 2017-2022 Bond Program includes several projects in the Monticello Park Historic District, to include improvements to the Pocket Park located on Club Drive; Area Street improvements; and Thespian Island improvements.

One of the projects we are looking forward to the most is the complete reconstruction of Furr Drivefrom Fredricksburg Road to Kampmann Boulevard.  The project scope includes street, curbs, sidewalks, ramps, and driveway approaches.  The design phase is currently underway and construction is expected to begin September 2019 and finish in January 2021.

Transportation and Capital Improvements (TCI) held the first Community Information Meeting on March 18, 2019 to discuss project design.  If you did not have a chance to attend, please review minutes from the meeting here

Pocket Park improvements paid through the bond have been completed.  This included new walkways, gazebo improvements, and overall improvements for accessibility.  In addition, the city completed the installation of the custom Monticello Park sign at the northwest corner of the park.  We expect several trees to be planted later this fall to replace the ones damaged during a previous storm.
